MUSIC
Zipporah was born into a very musical family, with both of her parents being inclined. She grew up with a larger musical influence than most, ranging from Aretha Franklin to Diesel to Charlie Pride to Norah Jones, just to name a few, but also loving musical theatre, being the child of two people who starred in RENT. Zipporah started piano lessons at age 8 until age 12, but when starting singing lessons at age 9, it unlocked a different side to her. She then went on to study at Wollongong High School of the Performing Art, gaining entry with music and dance. Opportunities started overflowing as Zipporah grew with her musical and political voice. She then became a go to performer for Wollongong city council singing and dancing at the NYE concerts 2017/19, and countless NAIDOC and Reconciliation Week events from 2016-2020. She was a Southern stars featured artist in 2018 and 2019, and a Schools Spectacular featured artist in 2019.
Zipporah started to gain confidence as a singer/performer, as was approached by her Mother, Christine Anu, to be her backing singer, after her mother would spontaneously bring Zipporah on stage to sing, and quickly relalised she ‘had it’. The pair have now sung together at countless events since 2018, such as Multiple NITV events, like 26th January Sunrise Ceremony 2018 and the NITV 10 year Anniversary concert at Uluru 2022. The Wugulora morning ceremony in 2019 and 2023, as well as ABC’s 26th January Concert in 2020 and 2023. Multiple NRL events, Women's Grand Final Halftime Show 2019, Awards ceremonies, 2020 season launch, and performing solo at the 2020 NRL partners breakfast. Zipporah has more recently joined Jessie Lloyds’ Ailan Songs Project at Sydney World Pride: Marri Madung Butbut - and Reconciliation Week events in Canberra. Zipporah’s favorite opportunities thus far are the Sydney Festival Vigil in 2022, the Red Hot Summer Tour 2022, closing the First Nations Fashion and Design x Australian fashion week 2022, performing at NITV’s 10 years with her mother and Aka and the unforgettable First and Forever festival, curated by Paul Kelly and Briggs.
